Sitting next to fishermen Dave Haddad, of Livonia, and Charlie Mosher, of Lakeville, were several buckets filled with their catch of the day, bullhead catfish.
“We caught mostly bullheads today, but we also got four big carp. Night crawlers and leeches [used as bait] tend to do that,” said Haddad.
While fish such as carp and bullhead catfish are referred to as ‘rough fish’ and are not ideal for sport fishing or commonly eaten, Haddad states that Mosher enjoys filleting and eating the bullhead catfish.
Haddad and Mosher claim that they are out fishing almost every day at Conesus Lake, catching mainly bullheads, and are very excited now that the weather has been consistent to continue fishing daily.
With the weather maintaining consistency, Conesus Lake can anticipate to see more fishermen out on the water in the forthcoming weeks.
