The Conesus Lake Association (CLA) has been running their arts and craft show at Longpoint Park since 1975, bringing in more than 3,000 people over the course of two days. Despite this massive success, the non-profit is hoping to lower the amount of money they out into the event.
“The CLA spends about $4,000 to put on the event,” President Charlie Braun stated. “Last year, we lost $350. We don’t do it as a profit. We’d like to break even. We provide it for the community.”
Currently, the Town of Geneseo charges $300 a day for rental of the park. Braun came before the Town Board on Sept. 13, asking them to waive this fee.
In addition, Braun expressed an internal interest in creating a boy-scout or girl-scout project centered around cleanup to eliminate the cost of paying an outside company. This would save the CLA about another $200.
