Is it any wonder that the company “Moderna,” saw its stock rise a whopping 26 percent this morning prior to official trading?
CEO Stephane Bancel announced its first round of testing of a coronavirus vaccine “couldn’t have been better.”
According to the company their experimental participants produced significant amount of antibodies that ward of the disease.
“This is a very good sign that we make an antibody that can stop the virus from replicating,” Bancel continued.
For this first round of testing, 45 patients between 18-55 participated. As a result they had antibody levels that were equal to or exceeded those found in patients who recovered from COVID-19,
The experimental vaccine, mRNA-1273, was found to be “generally safe and well tolerated” among patients, the company said. Further testing is scheduled this July.
