Community Garage Sales and Super Fleas continue on Sunday, Aug. 2, at the City of Rochester Public Market. Despite a delayed start to this popular event series due to the COVID-19 pandemic, customers can once again look forward to discovering bargains.
The Community Garage Sales, which always take place on Sundays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., bring dozens of vendors to one location for a unique shopping experience. Vendors have just about everything imaginable for sale – – from clothing to tools, décor to sporting goods, vintage records to bicycles – all conveniently located at the Rochester Public Market.
Remaining Community Garage Sales for this season are scheduled for the following Sundays:
Aug. 9, 16, 23, 30; Sept. 13, 27; and Oct. 4, 11, 18.
To facilitate social distancing, vendors will be placed in every other shed space and both Market patrons and vendors will be required to wear masks while shopping. Shoppers are encouraged to use the hand sanitization pumps on site and are asked to practice social distancing by keeping at least six feet away from those around them. Patrons should only visit the Market if they are feeling well. The Public Market continues to perform disinfectant treatments and consistently wipe down all surfaces to prevent the spread of germs.
Individuals and organizations interested in selling items at the Market can still rent 10 x 30-foot vending spaces at a cost of $30 per space, per event. Commercial vendors are also welcome. Vendor information and applications can be obtained at www.cityofrochester.gov/garagesales, or by calling or visiting the Market Office at (585) 428-6907 between 7 a.m. and noon, Tuesday through Friday.
Food stands and cafes located on the grounds of the Market and in the Public Market District will also be open for business on Garage Sales Sundays.
