The Geneseo Merchants Association will be hosting the 3rd annual Autumnfest on Main Street in Geneseo on Saturday, September 20 from 10a.m. to 6p.m.
“Autumnfest brings visitors to see the great things Geneseo has to offer,” said Lauren Hollasch, Main Street Manager for Geneseo. “It displays the vibrant downtown district to the community and highlights the efforts of so many merchants to make Geneseo Main Street an inviting environment.”
There are a wide variety of activities that the whole family can enjoy. There will be horse-drawn carriage rides going down Main Street to the Wadsworth Homestead from 12 p.m. to 4p.m, one dollar pumpkin racing at 4p.m. on Bank Street with a chance to win free gift cards, free pumpkin and face painting, and lots of food vendors as well as music and dance performances.
There will be a Geneseo’s Got Talent show at 1p.m. on Center Street and mayor Richard Hatheway, along with several other surprise judges, will choose the winner of the grand cash prize of $500. A $20 registration fee is required of all participants. Sign up to participate at www.GeneseoShops.com.
This is Hollasch’s third year helping to plan Autumnfest. She have been working with all of the merchants through the Geneseo Merchants Association, as well as, the SUNY Geneseo Campus to get volunteers, performers, and publicize the event. Hollasch says that Autumnfest always exceeds her expectations and seeing how much the hard work has paid off during the day of the event is extremely satisfying.
“Come enjoy a taste of Geneseo!” added Hollasch.
