According to a press release from Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, Joseph Watkins, 48, was arrested by Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Flickner, who pulled Watkins over while patrolling. Allegedly, Watkins was in possession of a felony weight of cocaine and a small amount of marijuana.
“You always go to the pure weight, and he’s only charged with a D felony,” said Livingston County District Attorney Greg McCaffrey. “Most of our Drug Task Force Arrests are B level felonies.”
Watkins, who also operates Joe’s Comics and Video Games on Main Street, was arrested and arraigned in the Village of Geneseo Court on charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree, Unlawful Possession of Marihuana, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 2nd degree, Operating a Motor Vehicle without an Interlock Device, and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.
The Sheriff’s Office also found that the Court had previously revoked Watkins’ license to operate as the result of a DWI conviction, and that he also did not have the proper interlock device in his vehicle as required by the Court.
Just this past May 2013, Watkins was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Loud Muffler, and Expired Inspection Sticker.
Watkins is currently being held in the Livingston County Jail on $5,000 cash bail, or $10,000 secured bond.
