LIVINGSTON COUNTY— The Avon Free Library is continuing their renovation fundraiser process by having a chicken BBQ fundraiser.
The money raised is going towards the renovations of the downstairs area of the library. The cost of the renovations is estimated at $344,000 with $267,000 donated.
“This is important because while we’ve gotten grant money that is assisting us, we still need contributions from the community to reach our common goal, ” said Christine Ryan, the library’s Board of Trustees President. “We’re almost there but we could use some help.”
The event will be held at the library on June 2nd from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. People will be able to purchase half a chicken with 2 sides and a roll for $10.
The renovation of the Avon Free Library has already begun and a grand re-opening is being planned for the beginning of June. There is a plan in place to expand the size of the meeting room, create a study room, update the children’s library, and re-configure sections of the main floor bookcases and employee space.
Tickets are available at the library and Sprinkle Ice Cream Parlor.
