GENESEO – Cricket’s Coffee Company on Main Street is celebrating Christmas in July with coffee specials, story time and shows for kids, a raffle, and a food drive to foster the season of giving in the summertime.
The front window is frosted and decorated with Christmas trees, there are seasonal drinks available, and any donation of non-perishable food will give customers three free punches on their loyalty cards towards a free coffee.
“I thought that it would be cool to have a food drive in the middle of the summer since there are always charity events during the winter holidays, but people seem to forget about them in the summer,” said Renee Livingston, owner of Cricket’s. “It keeps that spirit of giving alive through the year. Just drop off any non-perishable food items in the boxes under the tree and we’ll give you three free punches on your loyalty card.”
The ‘Santa’s cookie’ coffee flavor by Evening Star Coffee Roasters will be available throughout the month, as well as ‘frozen hot chocolate’ and more hot chocolate specials.
Every Thursday in July will be story afternoon in the shop for kids, featuring Christmas and winter-themed stories, puppet shows, and crafts on July 9, 16, and 23 at 2 p.m.
There will be a raffle basket with prize baskets full of Cricket’s merchandise, free coffee, baked goods, and gift certificates. There will be three winners picked from the ticket jar on the counter at the end of the month.
