LIVINGSTON COUNTY – A Sparta woman admitted to brutally beating her husband with a pool stick and throwing pool balls around the room at her house party, injuring him, her son and one other person, on Jan. 4, 2015, then resisting arrest by Deputy Sheriffs, biting one on the hand in the process.
Vivian Losey, 49, pled guilty to three counts of Attempted Assault in the Second Degree and one count of Resisting Arrest and is now looking at a possible 90 days in the Livingston County Jail, with probation. Losey broke into tears at the defense table in her tan jail suit and cuffs, and said that though she was emotionally shaken, she was prepared to enter her guilty plea.
“I just lost a son in June, and now I’m losing my house,” said Losey. “I’m having trouble dealing with all of this.”
A complete stayaway order of protection was issued for both her husband and injured son.
Losey apparently began the attack because she suspected her husband of having an extramarital affair with someone else at the party.
Assistant District Attorney Justin Hill added that one of the victims is still hospitalized.
Losey expressed some concern that because of the order of protection, she will not be able to personally retrieve her belongings from her house in common with her husband.
Losey added that she and her husband have been together for 12 years, 5 of which they spent married, and owned a business together.
