LIVONIA – Looks like the Chip Holt Nature Center was really onto something when they invited people to strap together watercraft from recycled materials and race at Vitale Park.

The third annual ‘Anything Floats’ Regatta hits the water July 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There are only three hard and fast rules: no motors, no commercial boats and no boats over 20 feet long. A full list of race rules is available here.
The Conesus Lake Association will be sponsoring two teams from the Geneseo School District and two from the Livonia School District. The Nature Center says the Conesus Lake Association will pay the registration fee for the first school teams to send in their registration form.
There are of course prizes for boats that win the race but also several other categories like most creative design.
There will be music, food and a silent auction.
The Town of Livonia co-sponsors the event, which benefits the Nature Center.
The deadline to register is July 26. The registration form is available here.
