GENESEO – An SUV reportedly carrying three children collided with a parking meter outside the SUNY Geneseo College Union Friday morning, inflicting minor injuries to one child just old enough to be out of a car seat.
First responders on scene said that the driver failed to brake properly and struck the curb and parking meter, inflicting a minor burn to the child from the seat belt.
No other occupants were injured, and the vehicle and meter sustained minor damage.
Geneseo Police and University Police blocked the area close to the vehicle, but traffic was allowed to flow smoothly through the Union’s circular road.
Firefighters with the Geneseo Fire Department responded to the scene, assisted by a Geneseo Ambulance crew, Geneseo Police, and University Police.
