LIVINGSTON COUNTY — Child Care Council Inc. is offering a nationally recognized babysitting course for young teens and adolescents ages 11 and older here in Livingston County.

A registered Safe Sitter® teaching site, the Council offers a comprehensive babysitting training program that prepares graduates to handle emergencies when caring for younger children and equips them with the tools needed to stay home alone safely is going to be offered for potential baby sitters.
The Course will be on April 2, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Council’s branch office in Lakeville, at 3513 Thomas Drive, Suite 4.
Safe Sitter aims to reduce the number of avoidable and unintentional deaths among children being cared for by young teen babysitters, by learning infant and child choking rescue, American Heart Association standards for rescue skills, and first-aid techniques from the American Academy of Pediatrics. Participants also learn how a child’s age affects how to care for them, how to prevent problem behavior, how to run their own babysitting business, as well as online and cellphone safety.
