GENESEO — The Oak Tree Half marathon hosted over 200 runners as they battled hot temperatures at the 14th annual Oak Tree Half Marathon to benefit the Genesee Valley Conservancy.
Mount Morris native and Olympic Marathon Trial Qualifier, Tim Chichester, 30, won the event in a time of 1:10:53 as temperatures soared into the upper 80’s by the end of the race.
Melissa Johnson-White, 37, was the women’s champion with a time of 1:24:41
Tim Dwyer, 58, who owns three men’s age group time records, was the first masters runner over the challenging course with a time of 1:29:40.
Over 250 additional runners finished 5k where Steven Haagsma, 25, won in a time of 16:38. Catherine Staley, 11, won the women’s race with a time of 21:17 for her second title.
