UPDATE: At 8:04 a.m. the Geneseo Walmart stated that there eggs were NOT part of the recall and that their eggs are from ‘Cal-Main’ foods. The lot numbers do match but there eggs are not part of the contaminated recall. They stated to call 1-888-254-4465 with any questions.
The GeneseeSun.com called the number where a voice mail from Cal-Main foods stated If your carton has p-1065 printed on the package they may have been handled by Rose Acre Farms. Cal-Main did deliver eggs that were contaminated but not to New York State. Further questions should be directed to 812-525-2230.
GENESEO — Check your eggs if you purchased them from the Geneseo Walmart. Eggs sold there match the batches being recalled.
The U.S. Food and Drug Agency recalled the eggs because of a fear of ‘salmonella braenderup’ existing in eggs sold from Rose Acre Farms. At this point, there are no reported deaths.
Rose Acre Farms produces over 2.3 million eggs daily and serves brands such as Great Value, Country Daybreak, Glenview and Food lion. Great Value is sold at the Geneseo Walmart and a GeneseeSun.com reader submitted a copy of their egg carton with the matching lot number to the eggs recalled.
