LIVINGSTON COUNTY- Eight of the nine accused former Livingston County Jail deputies appeared in Geneseo Town Court today.
Andrew Eichorn pleaded guilty to offering false instrument for filing and could face a year in jail, but the remaining seven, Jose Agosto Jr., Kyle Fisher, Timothy Frasier, Jeremiah Pratt, Thomas Schleord Jr., Michael Simpson, and Marvin Yamonaco Jr., pleaded guilty to criminal solicitation, a lesser charge. These seven face a $125 court surcharge and will not have a criminal record.
Village Court Justice Tom Bushnell stated that he was saddened that the jail supervisors who were in charge of the former deputies cannot be charged. “These men lost their jobs,” said Justice Bushnell, “While the person or persons who allowed this to happen have retired to the shadows with accolades and testimonials.”
William Baker was not in court this morning because he has allegedly taken up another job in Ohio. Both he and Eichorn are due in court July 8.
District Attorney Greg McCaffrey said that jail supervisors approved shift swapping, but insists that they didn’t know about any illegal activity.
McCaffrey will hold a press conference today at 3 where we will learn more details about the charges and restitution.
