Ten schools competed in the Individual Section Five qualifier round on Wednesday May 18th at Caledonia Country Club . The Notre Dame Retreat House on Foster Rd., in Canandaigua recently announced it will close next year. The retreat grounds, a 50 acre parcel overlooking Canandaigua Lake, with ponds, forests, a gazebo, and welll-maintained grounds has been in operation over 50 years, since 1967. The Dansville Girls Varsity swimmers took to the sectional finals Friday night. Between illness and injuries they had only 2 girls competing. Ella Frazer had a personal best 200 free time coming in 5th place, and went an astounding 5:49 to take 4th place in the 500 free. Kaitlyn Lee swam 2 personal bests in both of her events as well. The Dansville Boys and Girls teams competed in their final LCAA/GRAA league meet on Tuesday, October 19th. The meet was held at Brae Burn Golf Course on a new 3.1 mile course. Time To Applaud Our Local Schools: LOCAL SCHOOLS GET RECOGNITION FOR SCHOLAR ATHLETE TEAMS
Several local schools received the School of Distinction awards for having sports teams populated by student scholar athletes, with at least 75% of the varsity team having a GPA of 90% or more.
