Wegman’s Employee Admits to $568,000 Theft
A former Wegman's employee, Alicia Torres, 47, pled guilty in federal court to stealing over $560,000 from Wegman's, as an employee in the pharmacy department at Webster Wegmans, mostly through the use of a wire fraud scheme. She admitted that, since 2014, she processed about 350 credit cards for refunds, and then kept the money herself by transferring the refunds amounting to $568,021 to her personal credit card.
