LIVONIA – Another reported sighting of the cat that ran from a car accident in Hemlock has renewed search efforts.
Softie, a black and white female cat, has been missing since Aug. 21, when a car she was riding in was involved in a t-bone crash at the intersection of Main Street and Big Tree Road. She ran away but there have been two reported sightings, one on Tuesday in the area of Rte. 15A and Rix Hill Road and another Thursday night in the area of Rte. 15A and Rte. 20A.
“She came out of the woods for a bite to eat, but took off when she heard someone coming from the house,” said a moderator of the Facebook page ‘Protect Hemlock and Canadice Lakes.’ “Hopefully she’ll come back for breakfast in the morning and we can get her back to her family.”
The family posted flyers in the area. Anyone who finds her is asked to call (585) 991-8546.
‘Protect Hemlock and Canadice Lakes’ says that she comes to both her name and the phrase, ‘here kitty kitty.’
That page also says ‘her human is missing her like crazy’ and ‘Let’s reunite a little boy with his furry friend!’
Volunteers with the Hemlock Fire Department are caring for another cat which was recovered from the accident.
No one, human or otherwise, was seriously injured in the crash.
There was another sighting earlier tonight.
