LIVONIA – Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of a Monroe County resident on felony charges after an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
On July 15, 2020 at approximately 3:05 am, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Harder Road to investigate a single car motor vehicle crash. The responding Deputies located the vehicle involved in a ditch but there were no occupants in the vehicle.
Investigating Deputies later found the operator of the vehicle walking in the area. The operator was identified as 32 year old Aimee K. Magorka of Rochester NY and it was determined that Margorka was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Livonia EMS responded to the scene to check on injuries that Magorka sustained from the crash and she was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The investigation by Sheriff’s Deputies also revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen from the Town of Gates. A records check also showed that Magorka was operating with a revoked driver’s license for DWI related offenses. Magarka is also a parolee.
Upon her release from the hospital, Magorka was arrested and charged with felony Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 2nd Degree.
Magorka was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention. The charges qualified for pre-arraignment detention under the NYS Justice Reform Act due to Magorka having multiple prior felony convictions. The District Attorney’s Office was contacted in regards to bail and it was advised that Magorka should be held without the chance of bail due to the prior felony convictions.
Magorka was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Mount Morris Judge David Provo. The Judge did remand Magorka to the custody of the Sheriff without the chance of bail pending further court proceedings.
