‘Candle Light’ 12-Hour Ultra Marathon Returns to Honeoye Falls

NYLON – An unlimited-distance race is returning to Honeoye Falls.

The Candle Light 12 Hour Ultra allows participants to test their grit, completing as many laps as possible (each lap is about 1.07 miles) in 12 hours. This will be the second year for the event.

“It went very well for the first year,” said Race Founder, and Director Gil Robs. “We had about 80 participants the first year.”

Robs says the race will cap at 100 runners to preserve the location of the race. Participants will be able to run/walk as many laps as they can in the 12-hour time frame. While a 1-mile loop may seem daunting, Robs says it’s quite the opposite once you try it.

Between different paces and the sheer number of people on the loop you’re bound to be in proximity of another runner for nearly the entire race.

The race will take place Saturday, July 22 at 7 p.m., ending on Sunday, July 23 at 7 a.m.

More details can be found at the race website here.
