The retreat grounds, a 50 acre parcel overlooking Canandaigua Lake, with ponds, forests, a gazebo, and welll-maintained grounds has been in operation over 50 years, since 1967. However, with financial difficulties caused by cutbacks in retreats during the pandemic, as well as a shortage of Catholic Redemptorist priests on staff to run the retreats for men, women, and couples, a decision to close the retreat house was made.
The 2022 season will continue as in the past, but the house is expected to cease operations by Aug. 1, 2023.
