AVON: Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty reports the arrest of two Rochester NY women on drug related charges after Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a suspicious vehicle. On March 10, 2019 at approximately 9:15 am Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a convenience store parking lot on Lakeville Road in the Town of Avon to check on a suspicious vehicle.
Sheriff’s Deputies located the vehicle in question and identified the occupants of the vehicle as 32 year old Marie Ann Spitz and 35 year old Jessica L. Zicari. While the Deputy Sheriff’s were conducting their investigation, Marie Ann Spitz was found to be in possession of a drug
smoking device used for smoking crack along with over thirty (30) Clonazepam pills. Clonazepam is a controlled substance, which Spitz did not have a prescription for. The Deputy Sheriff’s found Jessica Zicari to also be in possession of a drug smoking device used for smoking crack. Also located inside the vehicle were suspected halogenic mushrooms which were seized and will be sent to the lab for testing with possible further charges pending.
Spitz was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree. Zicari was arrested and charged with Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree. Both Spitz and Zicari were turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention.
Spitz and Zicari were later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Town of Groveland Justice Jeanean Love. The Judge remanded Spitz and Zicari to the custody of the Sheriff on $250 cash bail or $500
bond.
