LIVINGSTON COUNTY – A Caledonia resident pled guilty to felony sex charges on Tuesday, admitting to enticing a 14 year old boy to perform sex acts on himself over a video chat on the internet.
Daniel Fisher, 26, pled guilty to felony Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, with a sentence promise of 3 to 9 years in state prison.
“I asked them to perform sex acts over the internet,” admitted Fisher.
Fisher was not charged with coming into physical contact with the teen.
His lawyer, Chief Public Defender Marcea Clark Tetamore, said that a condition of the plea will be a letter from the U.S. Attorney’s Office promising not to press federal charges in the case.
Judge Robert Wiggins said that if the letter is not received he will allow Fisher to withdraw his guilty plea.
District Attorney Greg McCaffrey said that he fully expects the letter from the U.S. Attorney to be sent soon now that Fisher has entered a guilty plea.
Fisher is a former Assistant Boy Scout Leader.
Judge Wiggins agreed to reduce the $1,425 in court surcharges to judgment, making it clear that the prison system can still collect that money from Fisher if they want to.
Fisher was remanded without bail to the Livingston County Jail.
