Cal-Mum controlled the ball for most of the first half, but were not able to convert that into a goal until the 19th minute of the game, when sophomore Jessica Garland scored off of a cross from sophomore Madison Shoemaker. Just a minute later the Raiders defense took the ball away from Letchworth, which led to a Rachel Hume breakaway and another goal.
The second half opened with another goal by Hume less than a minute in, this time off of an assist from sophomore Abby Webster, to make it 3-0.
Just three minutes later Hume had another opportunity at a goal, but Letchworth goalie deflected it. But the deflection set up a perfect opportunity for Garland to score her second goal of the game.
“I thought today we made some really good decisions,” Raiders head coach Chad Schalk said. “They played an offsides trap so they did catch us a few times on that but I thought we played alright today.”
Cal-Mum (10-1-2) plays their last regular season game this Friday at home against LeRoy.
