YORK — The 2012-13 basketball season is approaching as teams in Livingston County prepare for another challenging season. The York Golden Knights are looking to improve or duplicate an 18-3 record and taking the title of Section C3 Champions, keeping alive a three-year win streak going into the Caledonia Christmas Tournament.
Ed Orman, York’s head Coach, knows it isn’t going to be an easy road to the sectional finals this year.
“There is a lot of competition in Livingston County this year,” said Orman. “This team is a different team from last year, but hopefully we will define ourselves by the end of the year.”
The team is led by seven outstanding seniors, with some of the most experience in the county. Point guard Tyler Shutts, power forward Andrew Short, and center Nick Curry were key players in last year’s victories and are looking to leave their marks in their final season.
On Dec. 21, it’s the classic SUNY Geneseo showdown where the Golden Knights will take on the much improved Geneseo Blue Devils on the big stage. Mark your calendars because this is one game you don’t want to miss.
