LIVINGSTON COUNTY — It has been an amazing season for Section V basketball, as the local teams of Livingston County prepare to march towards Sectionals.
In Class C2, the York Golden Knights, Geneseo Blue Devils and Caledonia-Mumford Red Raiders have all had tremendous seasons.
All three teams are sitting at 12-2 and would have first round byes in the Sectional tournament, but are still battling for the coveted #1 seed, currently held by the 11-1 Lyons Lions, according to the basketball tournament bracket on SectionV.org.
For the Blue Devils, their remaining schedule includes: Home against Pavilion (2/1), Home against Letchworth (2/4), Away against Perry (2/6), Away against Mount Morris (2/8) and Home against York (2/14)
The Golden Knights remaining schedule includes: Home against Warsaw (2/1), Away against Caledonia-Mumford (2/6), Home against Pavilion (2/8) and Away against Geneseo (2/14)
The Red Raiders remaining schedule includes: Home against Avon (2/1), Home against York (2/6). Away against Letchworth (2/8) and Home against Perry (2/14).
Over in Class C1, the Avon Braves are 9-6 and are currently the #5 seed to determine the Class C1 Champion, according to the basketball tournament bracket on SectionV.org.
The Braves remaining schedule includes: Away against Caledonia-Mumford (2/1), Home against Webster-Christian (2/11) and Home against LeRoy (2/14).
The finish to the basketball season will undoubtedly be a good one and will cap off one of the strongest basketball seasons in recent memory for Livingston County.
