The Knights started out a little hesitant giving up a 9-2 run to the Raiders in the first minute of the game. The Knights would over come the deficit with a run of their own to start the second quarter 14-2.
York would go into the locker room at the half with a comfortable 11 point lead, but anything can happen on the road in Hornell. The lead would change 3 times in the last 2 min of the 4th quarter.
Brett Curtis would make an open three off of Tyler Shutts’s assist and then come up with a big steal on defense and finish with a layup giving the Knights a three point lead. Curtis would finish with 9 points.
“I knew someone needed to step up and make a play,” Brett Curtis said. “I got a good look from Tyler Shutts off a great pass and knocked down the shot.”
With 30.4 seconds remaining Neil Craft helped seal the deal with a big offensive rebound following a Luke Logsdon foul shot.
“I knew if I had fouled anyone the game might of been over, but I got a lucky bounce right to me,” Neil Craft said. “Coach Orman knows how to get us prepared for thes types of games but we had respect for them.” As always the star of the night was Tyler Shutts finishing with 20 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Up on the Raiders by 1 point, Shutts would go to the line with 4.8 seconds and hit 2 consecutive free throws to put the Knights up 3.
“I just had to tune out the crowed and make the shots,” Tyler Shutts said. “There were times in the game when our communication was bad so we’re gonna tune that up this week.”
The Knights (11-2) are undefeated away and have a 8 game win streak. The Knights will match up against the Leroy Oatkan Knights this Tuesday night at 7pm.
