BOYS BASKETBALL: Geneseo Defeats Rochester Academy in First Round of Playoffs

GENESEO — The Geneseo Blue Devils defeated Rochester Academy 61-44 in the first round of the playoffs.

The Blue Devils established a 20-16 lead in the first quarter and then picked it up for the remainder of the game, maintaining a steady lead throughout the next three quarters as well, finishing the second quarter with a score of 39-23 and the third with a score of 51-36.

Senior Kyle Rollins led the Blue Devils with a game total of 37 points. Rollins also sank all 12 of the free throws he attempted.

“I thought we played pretty well as a team,” commented Coach Paganin. “Kyle carried us offensively and defensively throughout the game. Hopefully we can keep it going in the upcoming playoff games.”

The Blue Devils will travel to Corfu, N.Y. to take on the Pembroke Dragons in the 2nd round of the playoffs on Feb. 24.
