GENESEO — The Hornell Red Raiders defeated the Geneseo Blue Devils 5-3.
The Red Raiders were led by Spencer Weyand, who scored 2 runs, as well as Jack Henby, Myer Spitulnik, and Jack Weyand, who each scored 1 run.
“Sometimes you learn a lot in a loss, and this was one of those days,” said the Blue Devils’ coach, Nick Drollette. “Dunn threw very well for them and so did Brian. In the end we were able to show resilience against a very good Hornell squad.”
The Red Raiders’ pitcher, Jake Dunn, had a total of 3 strikeouts, and Blue Devils’ pitcher Brian Linton had a total of 6.
The Red Raiders are currently 2-0 for the season, while the Blue Devils have a record of 4-1.
The Blue Devils gear up to take on Perry/Mount Morris on Apr. 21 at 4:30 P.M., and the Red Raiders will return that same date and time to host the Livonia Bulldogs.
