BOYS BASEBALL: Geneseo Defeats York 9-1

YORK — The Geneseo Blue Devils defeated the York Golden Knights 9-1 in an away game.

The Blue Devils were led by senior Brian Linton, junior Kyle MacDonald, and freshman Luke Harris, who each scored 2 runs.

Also contributing were freshman Evan Salvaggio, freshman Owen Lyons, and sophomore Russell Brownell, who scored 1 run each as well.

“The young guys again made an impact at the plate,” said Coach Nick Drollette of the win. “Luke and Russell are really earning their keep and Brian continues to be our toughest out.”

Pitcher Jason Valentine, a junior, threw a 4 hitter with a total of 12 strikeouts.

“Jason was solid on the mound,” Drollette continued. “I was happy with how he looked like a pitcher again tonight.”

The Blue Devils now have a record of 7-2, while the Golden Knights have a 1-9 record.

The Golden Knights will return May 1 at 4:30 p.m. to take on Perry/Mount Morris, while the Blue Devils host Keshequa that same date and time.
