BOYS BASEBALL: Geneseo Advances to Quarterfinals with Sound Victory

GENESEO —The Geneseo Blue Devils defeated the Cuba Rushford Rebels 8-2 in sectional playoffs advancing them to the quarter finals.

Geneseo was led by Brian Linton who went 3-4 with two runs at the plate and by Blake Phelps who had 1 earned run over 5 innings on the mound.

“You can’t let mental mistakes or physical errors get you into a downward spiral and the boys did a great job of picking each other up tonight.” stated Nick Drollette, who pitched to the players left handed in practice in anticipation of the opposing lefty.

Geneseo’s Jameson Moran  also had notable game went 2-4 with 2 RBI and a double as Ryan Lagrou continue his quest as ‘unstoppable’ on the base paths swiping his 25th stolen base of the season and has yet to be caught in his career.
