Boys Baseball: Blue Devils Continue Hot Streak Defeating Notre Dame (Batavia)

GENESEO–The Geneseo Blue Devils have continued their winning streak after their 9-0 victory over the Notre Dame (Batavia) Fighting Irish.

The Blue Devils pitching was lights out due to a great pitching performance by Blake Phelps who struck out 11 hitters in seven innings while only giving up 2 hits.

“Blake looked the best he’s looked all season today” said Head Coach Nick Drollette. “I tell the guys the best pitch in baseball is the first pitch strike and Blake threw a lot of those today. I think what really made him so effective today was his ability to mix his pitches. I’ve never seen him throw so many curveballs and it paid off.”

Along with great pitching the Blue Devils had some great timely hitting due to hitters like Ryan Lagrou who went 3-4 scoring 2 runs along with 3 stolen bases.

The Blue Devils are playing an away game today facing the Pavilion Golden Gophers at their home field.
