AVON – A Wellsville man whose drivers license has been suspended numerous times was arrested on a felony charge when a Livingston County Sheriff’s Deputy part of Operation Safe Interstate noticed unsecured cargo in a vehicle on Wednesday.
According to a press release from Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, Jerry Sumeriski, 56, was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree, an E felony, along with Unlicensed Operation and Loose Cargo, both traffic violations.
Sumerski was stopped by Deputy Shawn Whitford on Interstate 390 southbound in the Town of Avon for having unsecured cargo on his vehicle. A license check revealed that his license was suspended or revoked a total of 34 times on 10 different dates.
Sumeriski was arraigned in the Town of Avon Court and remanded on to the Livingston County Jail and held without bail due to having prior felony convictions.
