An intersection of Rt. 20A and Rt. 15 (Richmond Mills Rd.) often called Bosley Corners, east of Livonia village, was the focus of a State Department of Transportation study, thanks to Larry Ebersold, a retired DOT employee and Director of EMS in Livonia.
The intersection has been the site of many accidents over the years, and it was communicated by Ebersold to the New York State Department of Transportation that this intersection needed to be made safer. As a result of his communication, a letter was recently sent by the New York State Department of Transportation to Ebersold confirming that his assessment of the danger of the intersection was correct. As a result of the State’s study, the following changes will be made to improve the safety, visibility and warning at that intersection:
Installation of warning signs on the northbound and southbound approaches; installation of “stop ahead” signs on the eastbound and westbound approaches; installation of stop signs on both Richmond Mills Rd. approaches, and installation of “Cross Traffic Does Not Stop” beneath those stop signs.
The changes will be made later this Spring.
