AVON — Jim Blye and Tom Mairs were selected as Avon town councilmen at the Republican caucus Tuesday night.
Their challengers were Jim Harrington and Gary Wheat. With a total of 364 ballots, Mairs held 222, Blye 183, Harrington 163, and Wheat 150.
“I’m really overwhelmed that I got the top vote, and I will continue to do a great job for Avon,” Mairs said.
“It was all good people that ran for council, we are all friends after it’s all over,” Blye said.
Town Supervisor David LeFeber and Town Justice Peter Piampiano were nominated with no challengers.
