GENESEO — Clayton Benedict, 19, pled ‘not guilty’ in Livingston County Court Thursday, facing charges of vehicular homicide, vehicular assault, driving while intoxicated.
Benedict, a resident of West Sparta, was driving his Mitsubishi 3000 GT on Frontage rd. in Dansville when the vehicle flipped over, according to WHEC 10. Five people, Charles Piliero, 20, Travis Jones, 20, Jesse Galton, 20, Joshua Stiggins, 22, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Stiggins would later die of his injuries.
Benedict stood with his lawyer, Edward Fiandach, in front of Judge Dennis S. Cohen. He is still allowed to work at his job, but his license has been suspended and he will be under pre-trial supervision. The case was adjourned until July 19th.
