CONESUS – Chickens and polar bears will run to the Beachcomber for the seventh annual Polar Plunge April 8.
The annual plunge to benefit Vincent House Critical Care Facility tests the mettle of the hardiest ‘polar bears,’ who donate to the cause and jump into the chilly lake. Those too ‘chicken’ to jump in can just donate and watch the fun from the restaurant and cabana, which will soon be part of a major leap forward for the Beachcomber.
“We look forward to this every year,” said Beachbomber owner Mary Alice May. “It’s a great cause and a great time. Anyone can donate any amount, and any little bit helps. Plus, stay tuned for more from us at the cabana. This is a big year for us.”
Visitors from as far away as South Carolina have come to 5909 West Lake Road for the plunge.
There will be food, drinks and a good time for all.
