Cal-Mum’s trap defense and 2-3 zone led to a number of Gananda turnovers and easy transition baskets for the Red Raiders, which its up-tempo offensive thrives on.
Steve Gaffney led the way for the Red Raiders, pitching in 20 points and 5 rebounds. Kyle Kline added 14 points and 8 rebounds, and sophomore Will Van Auken notched a double-double, adding 10 points and 10 rebounds.
“We stuck together and we really like to get out and run the floor,” said Steve Gaffney. “I found [Kline] in transition a couple times, and we really liked to push the ball down the court.”
With the win, the Red Raiders (12-1) remained tops in Section V Class C2. Cal-Mum will play at second place Geneseo Tuesday night. The Blue Panthers drop to 7-5, and will travel to North Rose-Wolcott Tuesday.
