LIVONIA — The Pirates faced the Sloths in a doubleheader in the National Amateur Baseball Association on Sunday, dropping the first game 6-3 but winning the second 11-4.
The first game saw Mike Anderson batting 2-for-3 with two doubles and Matt Feldman hitting a solo home run for the Pirates. It wasn’t enough however, as Chip Northrup led the Sloths to victory, hitting 3-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
The Pirates rallied in the second game behind Eddie Baker who hit 3-for-4 with four RBIs, and Cameron Militello who went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. The win was sealed for the Pirates by relief pitcher Justin LoTemple, who struck out 10 batters while allowing only two runs over six innings. Northrup would again bat 3 for 3, this time hitting two doubles and two RBIs.
