BASEBALL: Geneseo falls in State Championship

BINGHAMTON — After picking up a victory in the State Semifinal over the Voorheesville Blackbirds 2-1, the Geneseo Blue Devils moved on to their first State Championship in school history.

Battling the Seton Catholic Saints, the Blue Devils fell in the State title game 9-0.

The Saints struck early, building a 5-0 lead by the third inning.

Saints’ starter Patrick Gosney was able to keep the Blue Devils’ hitters off balance, by throwing a four-hit shutout.

The Blue Devils were awarded the Class C finalists trophy and finshed with an overall record of 22-4.
