BINGHAMTON — Two Livingston County teams will play in the State semifinals for a chance to play in the championship game.
The 5th seeded class C Avon Braves and the 5th seeded class B Livonia Bulldogs will represent Livingston County as they travel to Binghamton for the State tournament. Each team will be facing teams that previously defeated them in the state championship tournament.
The Braves play the number 1 seed North Salem which a year ago these two team met in the State Finals. Where North Salem beat the Braves 11-8 becoming the state champs. The Braves will try and take revenge on the defending state champs to make their own run at this year title.
The Bulldogs have won their class sectionals four years in a row and have made a number of state appearances in the recent years. In 2015 the Bulldogs played for the State Championship and lost to Mattituck. Six Bulldogs from that team will be looking for vengeance in this years Semi finals vs. the 11 seed Mattituck.
Avon and North Salem play Friday (6/9) at NYSEG Stadium at 5:30 p.m.
Livonia and Mattock play Friday(6/9) at Binghamton University at 5:30 p.m.
