On Dec. 20 Village of Avon Police Officer Travis McFadden respond to a 911 call for a drug overdose and properly administered one 2mg dose of Naloxone to a woman who had overdosed on heroin. At the time of administering the antidote she had no pulse and was ‘flat lined’ until she was brought back to life and able to breathe on her own.
“Officer McFaddden saved this woman’s life,” said Avon Police Chief Gary Benedict. “Hopefully after this incident she will get her life back on track, she has two young children and they would be without a mother it wasn’t for Officer McFadden.
Upon being released from the hospital the woman thanked officer McFadden and was later ticketed possession of hypodermic instrument.
