AVON – A local man has been arrested on several felony charges after allegedly stealing jewelry and checks from an Avon residence, then allegedly signed and attempted to cash the checks.
According to a press release from Livingston County Sheriff Thomas Dougherty, investigators believe that Jason Totman, 22, had stolen numerous items, including two checks and jewelry from a residence in Avon, then signed and attempted to cash those checks.
Totman was arrested for Forgery in the Second Degree, Grand Larceny and Petit Larceny. Totman was arraigned in Town of Avon Court in front of Judge Piampano who committed Totman to the custody of the Sheriff on $2,500 bail. Totman is being held in the Livingston County Jail.
The investigation was conducted by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division and Road Patrol Division.
