AVON— An Avon man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a two-car collision.
According to a press release from Livingston County Sheriff Thomas J. Dougherty, Joseph M. White, 47, was arrested and charged with felony Tampering with Physical Evidence, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Failure to Keep Right, Failure to Maintain Lane and a DWI.
White allegedly crossed into the southbound lane while heading north on Avon-Geneseo Road and struck a vehicle head-on. In the second vehicle were three people, including two children, who sustained non-life threatening injuries.
At the scene of the crash, deputies discovered that White had been drinking before the collision and also attempted to swallow a bag of marijuana.
White was turned in to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail and was later arraigned in the Town of Avon Court before Judge Michalski, where he was remanded to the custody of the Sheriff on bail of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bond.
