INTERSTATE 390: The Livingston County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Webster, NY man on drug related charges after a traffic stop on the Interstate. On November 9, 2018, Deputy Shawn Whitford was assigned to the Sheriff’s Office Operation Safe Interstate initiative when he stopped a vehicle on Interstate 390 for a violation of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.
The operator and sole occupant of the vehicle was identified as 53 year old Joseph Young of Webster. A driver’s license check revealed that Young was driving with his license suspended three times. Young was taken into custody for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor
Vehicle in the 3rd Degree. Further investigation by the Deputy Sheriff revealed that Young was in possession of crack cocaine, as well as marijuana. Young was additionally charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Young was turned over to Central Booking Deputies at the Livingston County Jail for processing and pre-arraignment detention. Young was later arraigned at the Livingston County Centralized Arraignment Part (LC-CAP) at the Livingston County Jail before Village of Avon Justice Joseph Temperato. The Judge released Young on his own recognizance.
