MOUNT MORRIS — The Livingston County Department of Health welcomes a new provider, Amanda Acomb Halpenny, to its Reproductive Health Center and WIC Clinic.
According to a press release from the Livingston County Department of Health, Halpenny received her midwifery certification from the Frontier Nursing School in 2014 and has since been trained in techniques allowing her to distribute new and emerging forms of birth control, specifically an implant called Nexplanon.
Unable to find marketplace offers.
Nexplanon is a newer and more effective form of birth control than traditional oral contraceptives. The new technology takes the form of a “matchstick-like” implant placed under the skin of the inner arm.
For more information on Nexplanon or other services offered by the RHC and WIC, the Livingston County Department of Health can be contacted by phone at 585-243-7299 or online at www.livingstoncounty.us/doh.htm
