AVON — A written threatening statement triggered an investigation by school and law enforcement officials.
According to a Facebook post from Superintendent Johnson, the school received the threat just after 1 p.m. this afternoon.
The message from Dr. Johnson, Superintendent reads:
At approximately 1:10 PM today, High School Principal Mr. Brondon, was made aware of a threatening statement written in the school building. We immediately began working with the Avon Police Department and contacted the Livingston County Sheriff. Both law enforcement agencies are collaborating on an investigation at this time. Based on the information contained in the statement and assessment of the level of threat, all students and staff are safe. This investigation will be ongoing. More detailed information will follow.
The school did not release any further details at this time. The school posted the same message on their website as well
