LIVINGSTON COUNTY – A winter storm warning is in effect for all of WNY through 2 p.m. Monday.
According to our news partner 13WHAM, steady snow will continue tonight in WNY, lasting through late Monday morning.
“The latest snow forecast has Livingston County receiving several inches of snow overnight and throughout Monday morning,” posted the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office to social media. “Please plan accordingly for the morning commute; leave early and slow your speeds.”
A storm will track southeast tonight and early Monday from Central Michigan. This storm will pass by to the south of Rochester near the NY/PA border early Monday morning. This type of storm track typically places Rochester in a favorable position for steady and possibly heavy snow.
The snow will vary in intensity at times, but visibility lower than 1 mile will be commonplace with visibility dipping as low as 1/4 mile at times through the morning commute Monday. Blowing snow will also reduce visibility in open areas as the Northeast wind increase to 15-30 mph. The temperature won’t vary much and will generally stay in the middle or upper 20s into Monday.
Overall, snow amounts between 3 and 5 inches will be likely by drive time Monday morning with another 1 to 3 inches possible through the morning on Monday. This will lead to snow totals between 4 and 8 inches for most areas in WNY.
Typical April snow for the region is only around 3.9 inches for the entire month.
