GENESEO – A recent uptick in apparent burglaries around Court Street in the Village has Geneseo Police warning residents to lock up their windows and doors before leaving their homes or cars.
According to a press release from Geneseo Police Chief Eric Osganian, his department has seen seen an increase in burglaries from unlocked residences in the Court Street area within the past week, and the alleged burglars are apparently expanding their items of interest.

“There were some speakers and electronics were going missing,” said Chief Osganian. “Then one person had furniture taken.”
The Geneseo Police Department would like to remind all residents to maintain a ‘lock before you leave’ mentality, locking doors and windows on residences and vehicles before they are left unattended.
Anyone who sees anything suspicious or notices suspicious activity in their neighborhood, or has information that could assist in the investigation, are requested to contact the Geneseo Police Department at 243-2420. All information can be treated as confidential.
