GENESEO– Beginning today, Main Street, Geneseo will be buzzing as the annual Geneseo Summer Festival takes place. Vendors from all over including Pennsylvania and the western New York area will join locals alike for a weekend of fun for the whole family.
Today, the legendary sidewalk sales will start off the action. The familiar set up of several tents lining the street will run until 6:00 p.m. this evening. More attractions are set to get underway on Friday. In addition to sidewalk sales, there will be crafters and artists from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the park partnered with a variety of local food options. There will also be performances by the Valley School of Dance in the park as well, and to top the night off, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will perform with fireworks to follow (weather permitting).
Saturday, the day’s events begin with the well-known Geneseo Air Show that takes place for most of the morning and afternoon featuring aircraft from many different time periods. Also thrown in on Saturday there will be a Rotary Pancake Breakfast in the Village Park running from 8-10 a.m. and at 11 a.m. the Teddy Bear Parade will commence with any and all wishing to march in the parade.
The afternoon features the Dime Carnival as well as more live acts including excerpts from the Geneseo Community Players upcoming production of Oliver! will also be on display at 2:30 p.m. in the park. The nightcap brings the fan-favorite Skycoasters into town for yet another performance. The Skycoasters take the stage at 8 p.m. in the Village Park putting on a show that will run for an hour and a half.
The festival wraps up on Sunday with another edition of the Rotary Pancake Breakfast, the Geneseo Airshow and the Geneseo Kiwanis Classic Car show.
